This is a very easy to read book. I really like the way the author explains color theory, as it is and can getvery technical. Klotsche also lists 123 dis-eases and gives the corresponding color treatment as developed byDinshah Ghadiali.There are a few questions I have though as to the corresponding notes to color and I would question this andseek to do more research. For example, as has been taught by many in the holistic field the color Redcorresponds to the note C, the color Orange to the note D and so on. Dinshah and Klotsche challenge this andhave come up with an entirely different set of rules. Overall this is a great book and I would recommend itfor anyone who is interested in Color Therapy and Vibrational Healing.

Just as a heads up...so not follow his recommendations for filters. They are inaccurate. You must use roscolene, not roscolux as he suggests. Also, if you attempt to message him on LinkedIn to ask for clarification on his filter recommendations he won't respond. 😂The good news is that you just need to order the roscolene filters that the Dinshah Health Society recommends and you will be good to go. Sadly I wasted $150 following his bonk recommendations.Other than that there is some great info in the book and I otherwise recommend it.

I am a color healer, and I wanted more information on healing with color. Everything I needed to know was covered in this small book. I primarily use cloth squares, and learned deeper applications. There is information about color filters, and colored water, and light theory. -highly recommended.

This is the best book I have encountered on the subject of use of color in healing. Complete with formulae for a variety of health symptoms, and a detailed explanation of why color can be such a powerful healer, this is a must have reference guide for every alternative healer and anyone who wants the ability to heal for themselves.

i like this book because it is packed with information and covers things i found out in other books, but here it is altogether..in theauthors style..i personally believe that the chakras which match up to our glands and have always used color for each are'spiritual' avenues for healing help..he covers these as well as astrological colors..gives therapies and methods that have beenused..didn't find much on gemstones, which are my color 'pets'...

At only about 130 pages, I find this book to be quite informative and easy to read. It is basically about the usage of the 49th Vibrational Technique (color which can be combined with sound--musical notes--for healing purposes) and acknowledges the work of East Indian physician Dr. Dinshah P. Ghadiali. The technique of recirculating blocked energy goes back to at least 500 B.C. and was used by Pythagoras and others. The 49th Octave is a vibrational range that corresponds to certain colors, which fall within an electromagnetic energy spectrum. Basically, these colors can be projected to certain areas of the body to affect, and maybe heal, certain medical conditions.I say "maybe heal" for a reason. You absolutely CANNOT heal someone who does not WANT to be healed. Been there. Yes, believe it or not, there ARE people who really do NOT WANT to be healed. It takes a 1) desire to be healed, and 2) it usually means you have to fix/change whatever made you "sick" in the first place. Change is a painful process for most people and often not worth the trouble. So, if they don't fix whatever made them sick, the condition often returns.Anyway, the book provides a lot of base information about colors, their vibratory rate, how colors and body energy interact, auras, chakras, energy imbalances, healing with sound,and matching color vibrations to various parts of the body. The book even provides how to information, such as what colors to place on what areas of the body to help reduce high blood pressure. An example of what colors to place on what areas is: in the back of the book, there are 123 conditions listed.Let's pick one:#51 Gout--Lemon and Magenta on WBF; Scarlet on 12. WBF is Whole Body Front. Area 12 is on the back side of the body, and is the kidney area. This how to is explained in more detail in chapter 5, color application. There are also diagrams of front and back area numbers and locations of major organs so you can figure out what this "language" is saying. There really is a tremendous amount of info in this roughly 113 page book (plus about 17 extra pages of end-of-book stuff.)There are also good explanations of various colors for those who see colors in the auras or wherever. There ARE people who see colors and energy fields, but if you are checking out this book, you probably already know that.

Has all I need to expand my knowledge working with color healing

This book gives a thorough explanation of the history, science and physical, emotional and spiritual effects of colour in our lives. It was the perfect introduction for me, as someone interested in becoming a colour therapist. I feel that this book and Dinshah's book 'Let There Be Light' are really all you need to start using colour therapy on yourself and others. I have since purchased a light kit from 'Products On Demand' and my boyfriend and I have been using it for a few weeks with great results on acne, severe burn scars and general detoxification. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book... there is quite a bit of repeated information between this and the Dinshah book, however each offers its own extra, more in-depth explanations on specific aspects of working with colour, therefore making both books equally helpful and in my humble opinion; essential reading on the topic!

It's just OK. Literally, just OK.

Speaking as a woman who knows something about gardening, this book is 2 THUMBS UP. I also dabble in minor building projects so throw in another thumb.First on my agenda - build the double compost bin which I plan on doing in a few weeks. Oh and I will be building it by myself. No man involved! Tools and building materials are listed in the book (for each and every project) as are detailed instructions. Really, unless you don't read or just skim over the instructions as I've come to realize is a man's inherent trait*, there's no excuse in doing it incorrectly. Also included are photographs of each step which is helpful for those who are a "hands on" learner. Tips for making great compost are next. It's not as easy as just throwing in your garbage and debris.I want to make all 30 of these projects because they look so elementary but when it comes down to it, I don't need all of them. I will be making the Lean-to also. The instructions call for a polyethylene film to cover the lean-to which I couldn't agree with more. We used it in manufacturing our greenhouses. An alternative would be fiberglass but I prefer the film.The best part of the entire book is that it's gender friendly and the projects difficulty level would be a maximum of 3 which is really nice.* My humor is not intended to offend.

Some projects are good but the sizes of the screws etc are wrong. I tried to build some frames for beans and bought the material per instructions and the screws were obviously small to go through the width of the wood.

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or a newbie, there are projects in Build a Better Vegetable Garden that can get you growing in no time: setting up a raised hoop tunnel, designing and constructing a raised bed, building your own wooden planters, creating a cold frame, or making a trellis for climbing beans. Other projects you may not have immediately thought of include making your own seed trays (and dibber!), a storage rack for your tools, a wire support for raspberries, a handy trug, a cabinet with trays for drying the harvest, and a beautiful decorative obelisk. The best part about this book is you don’t need to be a certified woodworker or metalworker to do any of these projects. You don’t need specialized tools (most can be done with a basic drill, a couple of types of saws, some hand tools and hardware you can easily pick up and afford). Nearly all of the projects are made from wood. And the instructions are straightforward, easy to understand, and very clearly photographed so you’re not guessing at any stage of the project. I really think this book would be a fantastic gift for a new gardener or homeowner – and I actually think it would very useful for anyone setting up a community garden or allotment as well. Highly recommended.

We may not like to think of the Founding Fathers, who shaped American freedom, as slave holders, but the fact is, many of them were. Kenneth C. Davis tells the stories of some of the enslaved people owned by presidents in In the Shadow of Liberty: The Hidden History of Slavery, Four Presidents, and Five Black Lives.An uncomfortable fact: twelve U.S. presidents were slave owners. Many other Founding Fathers owned slaves. Davis writes, "These men fought for independence and were true believers in concepts like liberty and equality. How could such men keep other human beings as slaves, denying their freedom and basic rights?" This is a great irony of history.On George Washington: "For a man who had fought so long and hard for freedom, it is astonishing Washington could not comprehend that an enslaved person might want the same right."On Thomas Jefferson: "Jefferson wrote about the ideals and principles of equality and even proposed some small steps toward ending American slavery. But he also owned people and was completely dependent on them for his livelihood and personal comfort until the day he died."On James Madison: "James Madison, the political leader and revolutionary, knew that slavery was wrong. But Madison the slaveholder was ruled by fear and self-interest. . . . Madison hoped for an end to slavery. But . . . he also believed that America could never be an integrated society, with whites and blacks living together under one government."Davis tells the stories of slaves who were owned by U.S. presidents, illustrating and emphasizing this irony. William Lee, Ona Judge, Isaac Granger, Paul Jennings, and Alfred Jackson's names are remembered because of their proximity to power. But millions of other slaves' names are forgotten to history because of the obscurity of their owners. While in many cases slaves of prominent individuals were well treated and faithful to their owners, this doesn't change the fact of human bondage and the injustice of the system. And even heroes of American history, like Washington and Jefferson, had enormous blind spots as they callously treated their slaves like chattel, merchandise, currency, or tools.Some of their slaves ran away. Others served faithfully throughout their lifetimes. Davis is careful not to demonize their owners, but he does not sugar coat their actions and attitudes. There is no question that our early presidents are worthy of honor for their work and inspiration in the early days of our nation. But we must not forget the costs. Davis reminds us of the inhumanity and assaults on human dignity and freedom that formed the background of the founding years. There's no getting around the fact that slavery was an ugly, terrible institution. And there's not denying its place in our history. The book is both enthralling and fascinating. I've had to confront the sobering realizations of our nations history- that has otherwise been taught in an onerous and one-sided manner.. This book is a very easy read and good for teens and adults. I highly recommend this if you're on the fence. A+++++

A well-considered review of the lives of five enslaved persons who were the "property" of famous American founders and leaders, Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, and Andrew Jackson. The author's research and references allows an unusual degree of detailed insight in each, and his discussion does bring out the conundra implicit in having thinkers leading the effort for liberty while conforming to the unhappy traditions of slavery. This is a very readable text and would be quite appropriate for students without avoiding adult considerations. Note that one of the subjects, Ona Judge, Martha Washington's servant who made her escape, is the subject of a book by another author.

The book gives a humanity to the enslaved Americans and their many struggles. It also highlights the duplicity of some of the country's most beloved figures. I highly recommend this book to any student of American history.

I purchased this book for my 12 year old who had started asking some challenging questions about the Founding Fathers. I found it to be well-written and informative. It provides excellent historical and contextual information. I really appreciated hearing the stories of these individuals who lived so closely with the Founding Fathers and their families.

This book opened my eyes to the hypocrisy to whom America calls heroes. The lives and accomplishments of these five people is amazing. From enslaved to free. But millions of others never received that chance. Mr Davis is brilliant.

Great book. Very well researched and SO interesting. Written from the point of view of those people who other so called greats men, thought they "owned". The truth needs to be taught and learned.

Did I miss something? I am very interested in the topic, but I did not realize this book was written on about a 6th grade level. Maybe it's my fault, but this wasn't what I was looking for.

My son had to read this for school, so I decided to read it along with him. I learned so much about an untold part of our history and the fight for freedom....for all. Good book that everyone should read.
