My 14 year old daughter is a beautiful little nerd. She loves math and as a father daughter hobby, for the past month, since we've had this book, we spend time either at coffee shops or the meeting rooms at my office doing math together. We're through about 140 pages of the book now and I look forward to every single moment I spend together with my little girl solving problem by problem.To be honest, we don't really read much of the text, we simply use the problems and examples. The examples are so well written that we often don't need to do anything more to learn a new topic. The rate of progression is absolutely perfect. In the rare cases where we can't solve a problem because we're just not smart enough, we can peek at the answer which generally does a great job providing step by step detail. When that fails, we use Wolfram Alpha. When that fails, we knock on the door of a physcist baring a free dinner for him.I have purchased Algebra I for Dummies Workbook, Algebra II for Dummies Workbook and Geometry for Dummies Workbook. I have already decided that Trigonometry for Dummies Workbook, Precalc for Dummies Workbook and Calculus for Dummies Workbook will be in our next shipment.I expect that we'll finish this book in a few weeks. I don't think we'll need more than a few weeks for the Geometry for Dummies Workbook. Algebra II is a little intimidating, but we can't wait to eventually get to matrices.Whatever Mary Jane Sterling is being paid, it's not enough. This series is an absolute work of art.P.S. - Warning... I am a software developer/computer scientist. I am relearning what I forgot. If you are buying these books to help your kids, I recommend also getting a good text book with more thorough explainations of topics. I also recommend buying the full Wolfram Alpha app for your phone and learning how to use it.

I'm on chapter 3.... this is a big deal because I HATE math... but here I am, understanding it.I failed grade 9 math, barely made it through gr. 10.... never took math again ....it's been 15 years since I tried to understand this stuff and I finally am sorta getting it all. buy this book.

I have no argument with the content of the book. However, they advertise practice problems online and supply a PIN number. I challenge any reasonably intelligent and logical person to go to their web page and find out how to access these problem. I created an account and spent about 45 minutes trying to activate the online materials and had no success whatsoever. Sucks bigtime. Maybe I am a dummy, but I don't think so.

Got two of these...one for my Grandson, who had to take this in Summer school, and one for me. I give him weekly assignments and do them as well, so if he has any questions, we can review each weekend.Been a long time since I divided polynomials, but we are enjoying. Very good explanations, examples and quizzes...even my Grandson thinks it is well done. Highly recommend for any student having algebra issues.

I got this workbook to supplement a High School Algebra-1 textbook with additional problems and i'm glad i did... there are numerous examples of each problem with the solution completely worked out. There are even additional notes point out the important steps. This book has proven to be more than just a collection of problems. The material follows the outline of my textbook... which means i don't have to jump all over the place looking for examples to match similar problem in my textbook. I use it all the time and couldn't be happier! The "for Dummies" title is a lil'bit misleading though... the problems are not dumbed down. They are very similar to the examples in our school's textbook.

Great book whether you are in high school or refreshing on your algebra! Highly recommend!

My son almost finished this book on his own before taking an accuplacer test. He says he is able understand it. Occasionally he gets stack on something but then he is able to figure out the problem. He says the book is to the point. We had gotten a couple different books before this one, and he didn't like those.

This is the ONLY Kindle eBook I have ever returned; I felt the content was not worthy of even a few dollars as in my opinion I've read more in-depth information on free websites or even other book descriptions. This is my personal opinion, you may love it - I'm an IT Manager with over 30 years experience so perhaps I'm too demanding.

I have more than 15 years experience in I.T Systems and Business Management but for the last 5 years I was doing mainly hardware repair for both elementary and secondary schools when a new manager was assigned to the department. Every meeting held during the transition period, the new manager spoke about the I.T Department being compliant to the ITIL Framework. I had never heard of ITIL before but was ready to prove myself as a valuable team player. I bought two books on ITIL, ITIL For Beginners and a study guide to help prepare me to take the certification exam. However I got this book in my hands first. After reading the first two chapters only, I was able to produce a service operation plan for the department linking service functions and service processes to roles and actual responsibilities to staff members. I may be an extreme case because of all my prior experience in both business and I.T. and it is said that ITIL teaches I.T Professionals to think like businessmen. I call ITIL common sense for I.T Professionals and even without taking the certification exam as yet I am already feeling that this is one of the best books that I have ever bought. If you are serious about functioning in an ITIL compliant I.T environment buy this book, you would be glad that you did.

Perhaps it's not totally the publisher's fault, but this is the driest subject material possible. I found that reviewing the material did not make me feel like I understood the subject matter, to the extent that it was like listening to a 2.5 hour long syllabus for a college course.

I can recommend this book, since the concepts and the definitions are well explained to introduce you to ITIL, don't expect for deep explanations or detailed analysis, this is not the goal of this book. Is the best point to start if you are trying to start to path to ITIL certifications.

Provides clear explanations of ITIL terms and concepts. A good place to start. Recommended reading for experienced IT professionals who unfamiliar with ITIL.

I highly recommend reading this book before taking an ITIL Certification class and/or test. It will give you a break down and understanding of all 5 Life Cycle Stages. It really helped understand all life cycle stages and gave me a head start and expectation of what the ITIL Foundation class was going to cover. I also found the practice exams very helpful.

Sanders is a new discovery for me, and I was startled to see that this first in the Glen & Tyler series was published in 2011, which seems an ice-age ago, given all that has transpired in the past seven years. You see, 2009 was the year same-sex marriage became legal in Vermont, five years after it was declared legal in Mitt Romney’s Massachusetts. In New Jersey, where I and my husband have lived for 38 years, it was not until 2013. The Defense of Marriage Act was not overturned by the Supreme Court until 2015. All caught up?Now to the point: the kickoff premise of this book is that two longtime best-friend straight jocks get married in order to save one of the couple’s inheritance. Glen and Tyler have known each other since the age of fourteen, and have chased women together and lived together through college and their early years of adulting. When Tyler finds he has to marry before the age of twenty-five, and can’t get any of his former girlfriends to accommodate him, Glen takes a deep breath and proposes.There are no spoilers here—this all happens in the first few pages. It seems like these two stereotypical frat-boy skirt-chasers are less straight than they thought, and have in fact been in love with each other for years. Only in extremis did Glen find the courage to take a leap of faith. Only at their first kiss does Tyler finally tumble to the truth.This premise should be really aggravating to someone like me, echoing as it does the tiresome “gay for you” trope that some m/m writers fancy. However, Sanders somehow manages to take that trope and turn it on its head, making it into a bi-in-denial idea that makes rather marvelous sense. This whole series is about two bi men who fall in love with each other, but continue to flirt with and appreciate women on-page, even as they settle into monogamy and fidelity with apparent ease.The series also reminds me of the prolific writings of Frank Butterfield, whose Nick & Carter series first appeared in 2016. Both series involve twenty-something guys in love and with lots of money, trying to deal with the hands they’ve been dealt in a world that isn’t always accommodating. The comparison between the 1950s world created by Frank Butterfield and the 2010s world presented by J.B. Sanders is striking. All this proves, to my mind, is that gay writers might possibly share the same kind of money-is-power fantasy. And, indeed, why not?My initial skepticism over the book faded away as I got caught up in the humor and good nature of Glen and Tyler. Their love feels as real as their friendship and their shared love of hockey. But what really stands out is their courage and their unshakeable focus on using their money for good. They confront rather astonishing dark forces out to unseat them from their happiness, and do so by coming out as a couple, again and again, as the very first weapon in their toolkit. Anyone part of a long-term same-sex couple will know what this relentless coming out it like. That alone would make Glen and Tyler heroes in my book.The book is by turns funny and chilling, but these two young men never succumb to the spirit of vengeance that they might rightfully embrace. This aspect of Sanders’ story warmed my heart: we are better than our oppressors. We do not sink to their level. Especially in today’s socio-political climate, it is good to be reminded of this.OK, I’ve checked out J.B. Sanders’ website and GR page, and it appears that he’s a (presumably) gay man writing this quirky, high-spirited series. I’m a wee bit gun-shy these days, what with people publishing books under false gender premises to seduce certain market shares into reading their work. I’m just too old for this. I guess I took liberation too much to heart in the 1970s.As a closing note: I’ve bought the first three books in this series, and I imagine I’ll be adding on the rest of them in the near future. I can’t change the world, but I can support authors who write books like this.

Glen and Tyler had been best friends for fourteen years. Neither realized that the love they had for each other was the real deal, the once in a lifetime love. When Tyler's family start making noises that they are going to disinherit him and shun him, Tyler needs to get married ASAP or lose his grandfather's trust fund and inheritance. Tyler contacts his current and unmarried previous girlfriends and they all turn him down. Glen has realized only since all the Tyler getting married talk, that he loved Tyler in a sexual way. So Glenn asks Tyler to marry him. Tyler thinks it great joke at first, that Glenn is helping save his inheritance, but when Glen gives Tyler his first M/M romantic kiss at the civil wedding ceremony, Tyler is stunned by the kiss. He realizes the Glen loves him and, the shocker, that he Tyler loves Glenn back. Tyler and Glen at first have problems adapting to acknowledging that they are gay but they soon get the hang of it.Their marriage is for real. Tyler inherits control over his grandfather's trust fund which is much larger than Tyler knew. Now Tyler and Glen have to come out as gay to their respective families and learn how to manage the money Tyler inherited. No prenuptial so Glen is rich too now.I love the way these friends love each other so much. The adventures of Tyler and Glenn are so much fun to read. This is a super fun gay romance to read. The two heroes are both very likeable.I used to read only M/F romance novels. In 2009, I realized that I really enjoy Yaoi manga and anime. Then last year, I decided to try out some M/M romantic suspense and I loved it as much as I loved M/F romance novels. I tried a sample of F/F romance but so far, I have not found one that appeals to me. If someone has a suggestion of an author who writes F/F romance that is humorous, please leave a comment.Because I really think any any kind of romantic love with a happy ending is fun for me to read about. It lightens up my heart.Highly recommended quick and fun read. (I know I come off as a gushy 13 year old but I am really over 60.)

I am a heavy reader who rarely writes reviews. I'm making an exception here because I rely a lot on the reviews of other readers and this book hasn't received the number of reviews it deserves.I loved this book. I was delighted to find out there was a sequel available, Glen and Tyler's Scottish Troubles, and I promptly bought it and read it and loved it even more than the original book.This book is lighthearted, fun, and intelligent. It manages loving, respectful, and playful nods to caped crusaders, classic detectives (they missed Peter Whimsey though- I think they should pick up on that one for the third book), and James Bond.One reviewer commented that the story wasn't very realistic. No. It's not. It isn't trying to be. That's the point. However it is enormous amounts of fun and it successfully kept me happy and entertained from the time I started reading it until I swiped by the last page. I recommend it highly and I'm already looking forward to many happy rereads.

It is fun, over the top, sweet and humorous. Tyler, Glen and Nana are great characters.I listened to the audio book and I enjoyed the narration but I was distracted by some of the "room sound" changes. It did not stop my listening enjoyment overall. There is a very large cast of characters and the narrator did a wonderful job of differentiating all those voices. Looking forward to listening to the rest of Glen and Tyler's adventures.

I can understand how people view Russell Brand as a comical rambler, especially with texts such as this one. But I believe if you remain open to questioning your surroundings and the way things are, this text will speak volumes to you. The issue, throughout the ages, with new thinkers, is that there is usually an equally strong showing of those who don't want to hear or accept change. Change is difficult. It's difficult for nearly everyone, but it's a necessity in the evolution of human-kind. I enjoy Brand and his ability to step WAY outside of conventional means and thought in order to involve a design-thinking approach to how we treat drug addicts and political structures within our various societies. Cheers to Brand and thank you for this text.

I have to say that I'm a bit fascinated by Russell Brand at the moment. He seems to have done a complete 180 with his life going from self centered pleasure seeker to someone who actually cares for other people and wants to have a positive impact on the world. That, at least, is the appearance he is putting forth. I've watched him on his YouTube channel, The Trews, and a lot of what he's saying makes sense to me. We all need to reconnect with our spiritual side and realize how interconnected everything in our world is. We've polluted our atmosphere, waged wars that have killed countless people, and turned our world into a place where no one feels connected to anyone except maybe immediate family. We communicate via tweets and facebook without ever truly reaching out to anyone. The political system is so screwed up that there seems no way to restore sense. Is it time for a revolution? Maybe. And what he's advocating isn't a violent overthrow. It's a peaceful return to a more localized and more personal government and a reconnection to our world and ourselves. There's a lot of sort of mystical mumbo jumbo in some parts of the book that I didn't really understand but there's also solid fact based examples. Above all, Mr. Brand can write. His style is breezy and witty even when tackling the deepest and most serious subjects. I really enjoyed the book and have passed it along to someone else. If you've becomed disillusioned with modern life and the glaring inequalities in our global sociopolitical system, you might enjoy a different perspective this book offers it.

Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of Russell Brand. I thoroughly enjoyed Booky Wook 1 and 2. This book is quite enjoyable and the audiobook version is read by ol' Russ himself. There are some genuinely great ideas. Unfortunately, Russell derails his revolution at the starting gate by insisting on basing the revolution on some vague universal religion or faith. Which religion, Russ? He insists on some vague "We all basically worship the same god" type vibe. He forgets that most wars are fought over whose imaginary friend is the one true god. This will be a major point of contention right from the start and would ultimately lead to the unraveling of a truly brilliant revolution. It is really unfortunate that he seems to insist on this is an absolute necessary part of the revolution.Again, if you like Russell you will enjoy this book. You may enjoy it even if you don't like him. I was ready to sign up for the Brand army but was disappointed in the faulty foundation.

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It's likely not for everyone, but if you feel that the World is moving in the wrong direction and would like to read some alternative possibilities, then I would recommend giving this one a shot. It is funny, touching in places, and also a bit chaotic (like he might be a little ADHD). But Brand is a distinctly better writer than I expected, and I appreciated many of his "new age" views on how many modern situations could/should be dealt with. Honestly, once I picked it up, I looked forward to reading as often as I could. I will have to read it again soon.

So far very good, but now I've gotten hooked on reading his book called recovery, which I think is better! I love Russell and his colorful way of telling his stories. I'll come back and write a better review on this one after I've read it because honestly I haven't finished it.

I have been following Russell Brand for a while and always thought yea he is a little weird and his comedy can be a bit immature at times. however many times Brand is so well spoken and his writing style here in this book is very eloquent and interesting. His idea for actually writing a book about social revolution came from deep social disparity. He explained in an interview that he had came back to his hometown in England after a long time away to find that he felt 'ever so down' he was setting up a charity shop but saw that it 'was not going to solve mental health illness the problem is very vast' he felt that 'it was all going down behind his back and people are getting all down in the dumps around grays' (his hometown) and so came this wonderful book. Some words and references I didn't understand because their British. However its all clear his main points are clear, a very inspirational book and great story of things we can do, I highly recommend this book. His ideas; and he makes sure to tell you for credibility's sake that he is quoting experts on these many subjects he points out. Is that the unfairness doesn't have to go on, things can change.

It gives you a reflective insight at the world, capitalism and the underprivileged. I have begun to rethink my views on several issues that perhaps I have allowed outside influences and "the way it always was" to cloud several reasonable thoughts that have always rested in the corners of my mind. I always enjoy perspectives that produce questioning to my prior course of reasoning. This proved to be just that. It left me wondering if I could change minor aspects in my own life and the way I interact with others and produce relevant change to the world as a whole. I am not certain that I yield such power (yet) but I could make small impacts that positively affect one or two people. And if in reading this book I can accomplish that, I'd say it was well worth the investment.

If you don't already hate Thaddeus with a passion enough... it gets worse. Wonderful story. PC Cast, ya done did it again, lass! Making me fall in love with people and ripping my heart out when I least expect it, then forcing me to go through all the stages of grief for fictional characters and crap, but at the same time sending me on an epic thrill ride of adventure and awesomeness, and introducing a slew of other cool characters, with all sorts of special powers!

The 2nd book in the series and it did not disappoint. As soon I got it I read the entire thing and afterward I was anxiously anticipating the third installment - which comes out next October, by the way. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I will just say that I like how the characters stories are being built upon and your learning more about them and the story is really starting to unfold. You see that there is more to the world than just the 3 groups from the beginning and the lynx/human assassin combo. This is a must read

I absolutely love this series. P.C. Cast never disappoints. I've been a fan for years. Honestly, I could kick myself for not reading this series sooner. Her books are always full of HEART. The main characters (and their friends) are worth cheering for. I can't wait to read the next one.

I fell in love with the world PC Cast wove with Moon Chosen, and Sun Warrior does not disappoint as we revisit the post apocalyptic world forged by the sun's radiation. Humans have returned to their Pagan roots of matriarchy and Earth worship, and different kinds of people are at war and forging new alliances. Its a wonderful story that makes me feel like I'm watching a show on TV. I cant wait for the next installment in the series!

I've been a fan of. P.C. Cast since her house of night series, I picked up the moon choose book thinking it to be a continue on the Vampire side buy I was surprised and feel in love with it to the point I could not wait to get my hands on a copy of sun warrior and now wind runner when it comes out. I was so in-depth with reading I had brought it to work it helped me on the dead days I am just said I read through it in 2 days DX.

I kept having to take a break from this book because the story is written so well, it was starting to give me anxieties. 😂 I just kept wondering what was gonna happen to all the characters I loved and it was so moving and emotion. Utterly incredible. I loved every word, every line, every plot and detail. It's a wild ride from beginning to finish. I love it.

This is the best book I have ever read it has an amazing plot and amazing characters and every step of the way it surprises you with stuff you wouldn't expect all in all a really amazing book
