Rip & Red series is a positive about elementary students with disabilities living "normal" lives"
Great series!
Just as in books 1 and 2 in the Rip and Red series, readers will love the story of these two best friends! They will be a part of an all star team with rivals from other teams and work together to overcome this obstacle as well as a personal obstacle for Rip! Middle grade readers love this series!
First, let me say I love this series. I read it with my 3rd grader, and he loves Rip and Red and their unique friendship. I love the character interaction and the diversity. I was a little shocked at some of the content in this one (hotel room scene), especially given the target audience. I would recommend pre-reading before allowing an elementary age student to read it. I wouldn't use it with my 5th graders (as a teacher)-too many potential angry questions from parents. Really a shame; I hope the next installment returns to the spirit of the first two books.
