He reminds me why I am a Quaker and confirms many of my feelings of listening to the Light rather than the rules that sometimes are developed over time by the meeting. Sometimes there were very good reasons for the rules when they were created, but they have run their course and some may be released. It is the Light that we will follow as individuals and as a meeting. I love my meeting! There is no other place or way I would want to be.
Ben Pink Dandelion knows Quakerism experientially and through scholarship. He's one of the best writers and speakers on contemporary British and American Quakerism, particularly the more progressive elements of the faith.
This book gives some insight into what The Quaker Way is all about. I found it very enlightening. Though not written for those outside the Way, it gave me a lot to think about. This is a look at how their thinking works. I was impressed.
I went to meetings with my grandmother. It was hard for me to sit still. Now as an adult I like silence. This book is a great way to get reacquainted with meetings and being quaker.
I found this short booklet expresses my understanding of living the Quaker life. A recommended read for those trying to understand this faith.
This book is a very good overview about the Quaker way. S suggest AS reading for persons New to The Way or anyone who would like a quick easy read about the Quaker faith and way.
Hard to find books on Quakerism and I really enjoy reading these books. Tend to agee with the writings, too...
