The storyline was incoherent. It was like listening to someone talking ofa strange dream. The sequences changed strangely and the thinking of the characters was strange. Very bad book.
Heroine is why and deathly afraid of people. Her stepbrother is stalking and putting cameras in her apartment. Call the police, dum dum. The hero can't stand up to his parents about the false creation of a fake fiancee. They reach an agreement and have sex right away because H wants to get rid of her virginity. If she is so scared, why have sex with a stranger? Both main characters need to develop some confidence and stop being wussies. Hero doesn't sound like a military man. Please write a better story. This is a bunch of mumble jumble confusion
I totally enjoyed this book! I liked it wasn't so cookie cutter. It was sweet, with a dose of suspense. Lil Maggie really added a lot of laughter. I've never read anything by this Author before, but I'll definatly be looking for more.
I wanted to like this so much. It had the potential to be a great and emotional book. But the writing was all over the place. The conversations were confusing and theme gaps jumped all over. It was hard to follow which character was “speakingâ€. There were quite a few spelling and grammatical errors.It was just not an enjoyable read. I don’t know if it was that there was too much detail in some parts and not enough in others, or that the transitions were just bad or what. For as much was going on with the characters, Delainey especially, there wasn’t enough charter development. The book would have had to be about three times as long to get the background info and transitions we needed to make it a really good book. I’m kind of upset I spent as much time reading it as I did. Thankfully, it was free w/ KU.
This is quite a unique storyline about Delainne a 19 year old young woman on the run, and the relationship she builds with Eric, a military man and his six year old daughter Maggie. The story is filled with secrets, heartache and conflict. There were parts that had me shaking my head, and then great sweetness. Several times the story dragged on and then the story seemed rushed, especially the last few chapters. Add in a misleading title, and I didn’t feel the book was worthy of more than a 3 rating.
This is my first book by this author so I had no idea what it would be like. Well, we had an interesting storyline which featured a young shy woman being stalked, harassed and filmed by her stepbrother - I could not get my head around why she didn't go to the police for help.Then we had this hot sexy military man who can't stand up to his parents! He's a single dad of a six-year-old. He decides he needs a fake fiance - that I could get but surely if he had enough confidence to join the military he should have enough confidence to tell his parents to back off. His character just didn't work for me.Parts of the book were good, parts lagged and the ending seemed rushed.I read an ARC of this book and am voluntarily writing my review.
That’s what Eric was for Delainne from the moment they met. They also found a love that was strong and lasting, but Greg (Delainne’s crazy obsessive step-brother) can take it all away in the blink of an eye. He will stop at nothing to have Delainne for himself, but Eric and Maggie (Eric’s daughter) give Delainne a strength and love she never had before.I really loved reading this story. The only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is latex was mentioned multiple times during every sex scene and there were many grammar errors. Otherwise I loved this book and plan to read more from this author.
This book had some very intense moments and triggers. Delainne had a creepy stepbrother who was stalking her so she ran away. She found a helper in her new boss but a hero of a soldier. His protectiveness was heartwarming and he was kind of ruthless. I liked how his love for Delainne developed and how she made a family with him and his daughter. This was my first book by this author and I really liked it.
